Julie McCann MSc

Julie is a successful board director, consultant and facilitator who, in the last twenty-five years, has been responsible for delivering results in sales and service in the BPO Outsourcing and Management Consulting sectors.

Known for bringing direct, honest and supportive challenges to those she works with, balanced with a healthy (and essential!) dose of humour, Julie’s passion is working with leaders and managers to help them understand the impact they have on their people and customers when implementing strategy and change. Assisting them in creating alignment and performance by understanding how their mindset influences the outcomes.


Spending much of her career planning and leading change initiatives within the organisations she has worked for, and on behalf of her clients, these initiatives were integral parts of corporate strategy and driving the growth of the organisations. The success of these strategies depended on engaging the ‘hearts and minds’ of the people within the organisation, creating meaning for them around the many changes they were asked to make. This led to Julie specialising in this field, gaining her MSc in Change Strategy and Facilitation Skills at Surrey University, whilst leading an organisation as Business Development Director through a Management Employee Buy Out and trade sale. As a result, Julie had the unique opportunity to try and test her academic theory directly in the business arena.


Julie’s roles have included Business Development Director, Client Services Director, Sales and Marketing Director and General Manager. She has also been a director for the Management Consultancy Association and a non-executive director for First Place Consulting Ltd (one of the fastest growing consultancies in the 1990’s). Her director roles held, include Merchants Ltd, TSC Ltd and beCogent Ltd, (winner of the Sunday Times’ fast track growth for 2 consecutive years).


Julie’s work spans the Globe, working with many different cultures, assisting clients in achieving their goals. This reach includes EMEA, North and South America, Asia-Pacific and Africa.


Julie’s client roster includes: HSBC/First Direct, Transocean, Standard Life, National Australia Group, Pfizer, Mitsubishi LES and Webhelp TSC Ltd.


During her career Julie has designed and delivered many customer focused, leadership and management development programs. Significant assignments of note include the delivery of a Customer Focus Lean Management Process Employee Engagement program for Standard Life plc, which involved circa 3,500 people, an organisation back-office re-structure for a German Investment Bank, the set-up and launch of First Direct Bank and a transformation culture change across the largest oil drilling business in the world.
